I grew up in New Castle and graduated from William Penn in 1987. I played football as my main sport and went to Temple and transferred to Delaware State University where I continued playing for two years until I married my wife in 1990. I graduated from Delaware State in 1993 and was the outstanding student major in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and I was recognized at the local, state, regional, and national level. I started teaching for the Colonial School District in 1993 at Eisenberg Elementary and Colwyck. In 1994 I started teaching at John G. Leach School for exceptional children. I then moved on to Gunning Bedford Middle School in 1998 before teaching at William Penn in 2005. During this time I have spent time coaching soccer, baseball, swimming, track, girls & boys basketball, and football. I coached football for 22 years at the high school level before stepping down before the 2014 season. I also started teaching at Wilmington University in the spring of 2006 which is also the school that I received my Masters Degree from in 2000. I have also spent time through the years working with youth in the community by coaching for local recreational leagues, working for the Boys Club, and with my church. I use this experience at all levels (and the raising of 5 children of my own) to develop a practical approach to teaching that I plan on passing along. I am looking forward to a great experience teaching this year and I look forward to meeting you.
